Slow Sales and Hot Weather

Well here we are in the middle of a heat wave at the end of June. It hasn’t quite been the start of season I was hoping for. Tree sales have been slow, I have yet to sell a single rose, and due to the heat the lettuce and spinach I grew has began to bolt (flower) which makes it unsaleable.

With the heat we have been unable to install our new drip irrigation – and its right when our trees need it the most. Fortunately Blue Spruce are quite drought tolerant but we could sure do with some rain soon.

We did manage to sell 20 trees that we delivered on Monday but with the heat its a challenge to transplant trees – they are wilting within an hour of being spaded. Just have to remember, water lots, water deep.

Here’s hoping for some cooler weather soon.
